He was born in Calhoun, on Dec. 10, 1958, to the late Harold and Christine Barrett Sr. Mr. Finley attended the Bartow County Public School System. With only three weeks left before his high school graduation, he enlisted into the U. S. Marine Corps. Due to a medical condition, however, he was honorably discharged. While serving in the military he learned the trade of plumbing. He was an expert craftsman and took pride in all of his workmanship. He enjoyed collecting model cars, watching science fiction movies, and cooking. Mr. Finley enjoyed traveling and people. He never met a stranger. Once he entered your life, you never forgot him.
He leaves to cherish his sweet memory two sisters, Linda (Lemuel) Jackson of Tucker, and Lucretia Phillips of Marietta; two brothers, Harold (Betty) Finley, Jr., of Adairsville, and Rickey Finley of Calhoun; three aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, at 3 p.m., at Friendship Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Brother Edward L. Keaton officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Adairsville.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 3, from 7 until 8 p.m., at Barton Funeral Home.
