Mr. Brown was born in Cartersville, son of the late Hiram Brown and Willie Campbell Brown. He was retired from Lockheed-Martin and was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Callie Brown; a brother, Billy Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mildred Ward Brown; a son, Pat (Tracy) Brown; daughters, Sherrie (Ron) Wissing, Donna (Jerry) Schar, Kim (Tony) O'Connell; grandchildren, Ashley Wissing, Laurie Wissing, Marcus Wissing, Blake Kimbral, Megan O'Connell, Amelia O'Connell, Gretchen Brown, Nick (Melinda) Schar; great-grandchildren, Brett Schar and Breanna Schar; sisters, Shirley Stegall and Doris Newton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, June 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating. Entombment will follow.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Gary Barron, Rick Newton, Marcus Wissing, Blake Kimbral, Jimmy Stephenson. Honorary pallbearers include James Green.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund.
