A life long resident of Cartersville, Charles was raised by his grandparents. He was a graduate of Cartersville High School, served his country in the United States Army, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Charles had worked for E-Z Mills and later retired from Shaw Industries. He was known an independent person who loved outdoor activities especially hunting, but most of all Charles loved his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Carol Otting Allred; his sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Terri Allred, and Chris and Lorie Allred; his daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Dennis Chambers, Debbie and Sonny John Earwood, and Dale and Eddie Jenkins; his grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Austin Luedtke, Chase Allred, Heather and Katie Boliver, Monica and James Brown, Hannah Jenkins, Amy Chambers, Lauren Allred, Abby Grayce Allred, and Camden Allred; his great-grandchildren, Nathan Brown, and Alex Brown; his brothers and sister, Jack Allred, Robert Ed Allred, and Janice Roberts.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating. Burial will follow in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chase Allred, Wesley Knight, Jeremy Knight, N.C. Moore, Robbie Roberts, and Jimmy Allred. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
