He was born in Paulding County on May 18, 1944, son of the late Albert and Pluma Trammels Woody. Mr. Woody was a member of Canaanland Christian Center and had worked at Patty's Truck Stop. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Barron Woody; three brothers, Howard, Carl, and Denny Woody; and three sisters, Rosie Flowers, Mary Lou Shepard and Estelle Ray.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Loretta Woody of White; a daughter and son-in-law, Chrystal and Dewayne Abernathy of White; five grandsons, Dustin Abernathy, Brandon Abernathy, Devin Woody, Dillon Woody and Austin Abernathy; special nieces and nephew, Linda Sue Williams, Anne Scroggins, and Donald Ray; other nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 15, at 2 p.m. in Wofford's Crossroad Cemetery, White, with Rev. Harold Dale officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 15, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Earl Woody.
