The Bartow County Board of Education on Monday approved the transfer of Adairsville Middle School Principal Bruce Mulkey to the position of principal at Adairsville High School.

"It's a good transition for that community," superintendent John Harper said. "[Mulkey] knows the community well and has worked at the high school level before. We feel he'll do a good job there and we're very excited about that transfer."

The board also approved the resignation of Melinda Moe, principal of Cloverleaf Elementary School.

"[Moe] has been an outstanding employee for the Bartow County School System and we're going to miss her," Harper said.

The board did not discuss the tentative budget for 2012 and removed a potential vote on the budget from the agenda, but will hold a public hearing on June 23 before holding a final hearing and vote on June 30.
