She was born in Calhoun, Sept. 26, 1941, daughter of the late George Washington and Estelle McClure Lancaster. Mrs. Pitts loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed growing flowers and gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, David Leon Pitts of Adairsville; a daughter, Tracy Pitts Weaver of Adairsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Lisa Pitts of Adairsville; three grandchildren, Lauren, Austin, and Seth Weaver; a brother, Joel Lancaster of Adairsville and a sister, Carol Taylor of Fairmount; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 16, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Dan Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.
Pallbearers will be Austin and Seth Weaver, Randy Tillery, Michael Raven, Ray Lancaster, Tommy Ayers, David McClure and Dr. Byron Littlefield. Sam Jewett will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home.
