Barnsley Gardens Resort's Beer Garden on Saturday will come alive with the sound of music.

The event, held on Saturdays through the end of November, will feature local musicians in the authentic beer garden setting.

Saturday's concert will feature Atlanta's Tony Sims, whose music blends country, blues, rock and roll, and soul. Future dates will showcase artists such as Brian Perry, Eric Hinton, Jon Byrd and Scott Thompson. Most shows, including Saturday's, are from 4 to 7 p.m., but times will vary by date.

Inga Marone with Pineapple Public Relations said the series grew out of previous music events held at the Adairsville resort.

Open to the general public, there is no charge for admission and all ages are welcome. A cash bar will be available along with food concessions featuring German sausages and pretzels.

"Barnsley in itself is a pretty unique experience and the authentic European beer garden just adds so much to that," Marone said. "They've got some really great local artists coming in [for Live Music in the Beer Garden]."

Barnsley Gardens' history begins with the original manor called Woodlands, an estate built by Godfrey Barnsley his wife, Julia. Barnsley began construction on the Italianate villa in the 1840's, with the residence and its gardens designed by Andrew Jackson Downing. Opened in 1991 as a historical gardens and museum, today Barnsley features world-class amenities and an 18-hole championship golf course, three restaurants, the Outpost and a full-service spa.
