"We do know that we have a tractor-trailer that left the roadway," said Cartersville Fire Chief Scott Carter.
The vehicle caught fire, which has been extinguished, according to Carter.
All four lanes of 411 were closed for some time, but Carter said about 9:50 a.m. personnel was working to reopen a portion of the roadway.
The Bartow County coroner is on the scene, and no details on the victim were available from Carter.
The fire chief said investigators are working to establish the cause of the accident.
