Mrs. Elizabeth (Liz) Ross Fowler, 76, of Cartersville passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at her residence.

She was born in Murray County, March 16, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Kenneth Harrison Ross and the late Nora Elrod Ross. Preceding her in death along with her parents is her husband, Leonard Fowler.

Mrs. Fowler was of the Baptist Faith and was an active member of Center Baptist Church. She was retired from Cartersville Undergarment and later retired from Union Carbide. She loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafts, making floral arrangements, gardening, traveling and doing volunteer work for her community.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Harrison L., and Shelia B. Fowler of Rydal, Brian K. Fowler of Rydal; her brothers, Kenneth S. Ross and Phillip Q. Ross; her sisters and brother-in-laws, Bonnie Collis, Frances Collum, Evelyn and Larry Emery, Betty Sue and David Bradley and Florence and Mike Decker; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Aug. 5 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Larry Hufstetler and Charles Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Center Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Head, David Wood, Eric Hufstetler, Rodney Decker, Kacey Fowler, Doug Perkins, Michael Decker and Matthew Fowler.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
