Mr. Verhine was born Oct. 15, 1946, in Cobb County, a son of the late John Wesley Verhine and Christine Gilbert Verhine.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, graduate of McEachern High School in Cobb County and was employed as a brick mason.
Survivors include his sister, Mercedes Verhine of Kennesaw, Wesley Verhine of Marietta and Broadus Verhine of Jamaica, N.Y. He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Verhine.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, from the Georgia National Cemetery in Cherokee County, with Rev Kenny Jacobs officiating. Full military rites will be observed.
There will be a family visitation at the funeral home from 11 a.m. till noon Friday, Aug. 5.
