The Cartersville Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the area of Cline Smith and Industrial Park roads around 9 a.m. where a tractor-trailer had left the roadway and crashed into the woods where it caught fire. The driver was unable to exit and died on the scene, according to CPD's Lt. Mark Camp. The fire, though quickly extinguished, burned surrounding trees and kept the road closed for five hours.
