I was involved in an auto accident on July 13, 2011 on highway 41 south at the Etowah River bridge.
I would like the citizens of Bartow County to know what an outstanding rescue team we have and how fortunate we are to have them. The following rescue teams responded to my accident, Bartow County Fire Rescue, Bartow County Ambulance Service, Bartow County Sheriff Department, Georgia State Troopers, Cartersville Post 3. There may have been others who responded that I am not aware of. However, my point is these responders did an incredible job in extracting me from my car which start out on Highway 41 South and ended up almost down to the Etowah River Road below upside down.
They were all very professional, and compassionate toward me and my family. They all pulled together as a team and worked in a timely manner and put themselves in harms way to rescue me from my unstable totaled car.
I wish I knew the names of all involved in my rescue so that I could go to each of them and personally thank them for all they did for me.
I as well wish I knew the name of the bystander who saw the accident happen and took immediate action by calling 911 to get help to me. Had it not been for this person getting the ball rolling it may have been hours before anyone found me and the circumstances might have been much worse...
I want to add my thanks and my gratitude to all who came to my aid on that day. Your actions will not be forgotten by me or my family.
Sincerely,
Howard Egnor
