Cartersville Police Department is seeking information in an early morning home invasion where a woman was assaulted.

Between 4:30 and 5 a.m. a black male suspect entered a residence at Parkview Apartments on

Pine Grove Road and robbed and assaulted the female resident, according to CPD Lt. Mark Camp.

The suspect possibly gained entry through the back door and went upstairs, confronting the victim and demanding money. The victim attempted to fight off the suspect, receiving multiple non-life threatening lacerations from the suspect's knife in the struggle.

The victim was able to make her way to a neighbor’s residence for help.

The suspect is described by the victim as a black male about 5 feet 3 inches and weighing about 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing either a black T-shirt or black tank top, long blue jean shorts or regular blue jeans, and had a blue bandanna. The suspect was using an iPhone as a flashlight and had a silver earring in his right ear.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cartersville police at 770-382-2526.
