Mrs. Gladys 'Sugar Booger' Fossett James

Mrs. Gladys "Sugar Booger" Fossett James, 86, of Cartersville died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at Starcrest Nursing Home where she was a resident for 21 years.

A native of Bartow County, she was born on May 24, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Floyd Fossett and the late Cora Holmes Fossett. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vid James; her sisters, Sylvia Black, Margaret Latimer and Lois Jones; and her brothers, William, Leonard and Albert Fossett.

Mrs. James was a member of Poplar Springs Methodist Church in Adairsville and prior to retirement was employed by Nantucket Industries.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie Carol Lee and William "Red" Lee; her grandchild, Dustin Cody Lee; her brother-in-law, Herman Jones of Cartersville; her sister-in-law, Carol Fossett of Greensboro, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18, at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Joe Nix presiding.
