Mrs. Sims and her husband, Charles, were the owners of East Point Tire Store and were charter members of The First Presbyterian Church in Cullman. She spent her life devoted to and caring for her family.
Mrs. Sims is survived by her husband, Charles Milton Sims; her children, Melanie (Van) Simmons, Chris (Petie) Sims, Mike (Donna) Sims and Charlie (Nan) Sims; her grandchildren, Katie Simmons, Jenny (Nate) Welch, Scott Sims and Matt Sims; her great-grandchildren, Charlie Welch and Hayden Welch.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
The family will also receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, at Moss Service Funeral Home in Cullman, Ala. Prior to the visitation, Mrs. Sims' family will be at the home of her niece and nephew, Linda and Steve Lanier in Oak Level, Ala..
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Etowah Scholarship Fountain in memory of The Joshua Simmons Humanitarian Fund, P. O. Box 1239, Cartersville, GA 30120.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the employees of Maple Ridge Nursing Home and the Heartland Hospice Team for their loving care.
