Launched in 2000 by Parnick Jennings, the luncheon was designed as a way to recognize the service of government workers. Following the 9/11 attack in 2001, the event expanded and Jennings began to reach out to local businesses for support in hosting a larger celebration.
The luncheon, which includes all Bartow County government employees and surrounding city municipalities, is scheduled for Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clarence Brown Conference Center.
