Mrs. Dabbs was born Oct. 23, 1923, in Itta Bena, Miss., a daughter of the late John Franklin Kelly and Ida Lee McGarrh Kelly.
She was a member of the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church, former member of the Cartersville Garden Club and a homemaker. Mrs. Dabbs loved cooking and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Woodrow Dabbs, and her brothers, Herbert Milton Kelly, Jerome Kirby Kelly, Lindsey S. Kelly, Emory Gordon Kelly, James Verell Kelly, Murry Kelly and John Daily Kelly.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John Andrew Dabbs and Sharon Dabbs of Douglasville; her son, James Kelly Dabbs of Suwanee; grandchildren and spouses, Kelly Andréa Dabbs Hummel and Brad Hummel and Mary Francis Dabbs Ritty and Ed Ritty, Michael Douglas McCall and Jeffrey Boyd McCall; great-grandchildren, Graham Cody Hummel, Margaret Leigh Hummel, and Celia Larissa Ritty; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to remember her caregivers, Sharon Hamlin, Shirley Bacon, Carolyn Egnor, Myrtle Abernathy and Ginger Figueroa.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, from the Oak Hill cemetery, with Elder Will Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Building Fund, C/O Bruce Taylor, 280 Old Dallas Highway, Cartersville.
