Bessie Brown Garrison, 89, of Davis Town Road, Taylorsville, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2011.

Mrs. Garrison was born June 16, 1922 in Bartow County, was retired from EZ Mills and was a member of Floyd Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Clifford Brown and Esther Brown- Lipscomb, her husband of 60 years, Claude Clifton Garrison, her son, Claude Douglas Garrison, a sister, Flossie Robinson and a brother, W.C. Brown.

Surviving is her daughter, Virginia Garrison of Taylorsville, daughter in law, Lynn Garrison of Cartersville, grandson, Hunter Garrison of Athens, granddaughter, Paige Garrison of Cartersville, sister, Mary Jo Morris of Cartersville, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 4, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Fisher officiating.

Burial followed in Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Morris, Larry Garrison, Guy Garrison, Lamar Harris, Larry Harris and Stacy Jones.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Floyd Creek Baptist Church.
