Mr. Smith was born May 1, 1961, in Bartow County, son of Henry Lee Smith III and Sara Dianne Lane Smith. He was employed by Cleveland Electric, where he was a foreman, and was a member of the IBEW union. Lee loved Alabama football and spending time outdoors on the lake with family and friends. He also loved good food and good times.
Survivors include his wife, Rhea Jenkins Smith; son, James David "JR" Thomas III; parents, Henry and Dianne Smith; sisters, Mary Victoria DeLoach and her husband Eric, Teresa Ann Williamson and her husband Joel; nieces and nephews, Ansley Tucker, Diamond Tucker and Brandon Dial; aunts, Patsy Tibbetts and her husband Jerry, Mary Jane Nelson and her husband Jim; special friends, Jim & Mary Ann Blackstock, Sidney Lee.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Franklin Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Dan Smith, Jim Blackstock, Todd Olson, David Watkins, Greg Tibbetts and Troy Ward.
