Mrs. Janie L. Morris Gatlin, 81, of Polk City, Fla., passed away Sept. 15, 2011, at the residence.

She was born in Kingston, April 13, 1930, daughter of the late James C. and Lucy Ghorley Morris. Mrs. Gatlin was a member of Stoner Chapel Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gatlin Sr.; and two daughters, Barbara Jean and Sue Gatlin.

Survivors include three daughters, Louise Childress of Bean Station, Tenn., Connie and Gerald West of Lakeland, Fla., and Charlotte and Mike Smith of Rutledge, Tenn.; a son, Ralph Gatlin Jr., of Polk City, Fla.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mae James of Adairsville.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. from Stoner Chapel Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Gary Jarrett officiating. Interment will follow in Stoner Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 17, from noon until the funeral hour at Stoner Chapel Baptist Church, Adairsville.
