Rev. Winston Paul Stringer, 69, of Cartersville went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at Cartersville Medical Center.

He was born March 23, 1942, in Fish Creek, Ga., and was the son of the late James Thomas (Jim) Stringer and the late Margie Fuller Stringer. Preceding him in death along with his parents is a brother, Tony Stringer.

Rev. Stringer was a member of First Church of Cartersville and an ordained minister of the Congregational Methodist Faith for over 40 years. He was owner/operator of Canton Termite and Pest Control for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Stringer of Cartersville; his siblings, Cheryle and Wayne Stone of Rockmart, Linda and Cliff Matson of Ohatchee, Ala., Jimmy and Judy Stringer of Gay, Ga., and Eric and Joyce Stringer of Powder Springs; a multitude of nieces and nephews and of great-nieces and nephews; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen Powell and Jack and Sandy Powell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of Cartersville with Rev. Nathan Sanders and Rev. Talmadge Pope officiating. Rev. Stringer will be carried to the church on Saturday to lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Reuben Lowe, Tommy Stone, Eric Stringer Jr., Jimmy Stringer Jr., Joseph Stone and Trevor Blacksmith.
