Rev. Adcock was born May 3, 1935, in Floyd County, a son of the late L. B. Adcock, and Margaret Haney Adcock. He was a member of Snow Springs Baptist Church, Shannon Masonic Lodge #100 F&AM, where he served as past master. Rev. Adcock was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Army as a Spec. 4. He retired from Inland Containers after 41 years of service. Rev. Adcock was ordained as minister 37 years ago and served Snow Springs Baptist Church, Sunny Hill Baptist Church, West End Baptist and East Centre Baptist Church in Centre, Ala. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gracie Adcock, Zonie Milam, Lillie Price, and brother, Wesley Adcock.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jeanette Smith Adcock; son, Michael Adcock, Rome; daughter, Teresa Adcock, Rome; brother and sister-in-law, Lonie and Eunice Adcock, Rome.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday Oct. 13 at Snow Springs Baptist Church, with Rev. Clinton Carver, and Rev. Stephens Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in Snow Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until funeral hour Thursday at Snow Springs Baptist Church.
Flowers may be accepted or donations may be made to Snow Springs Baptist Church, 831 Snow Springs Road, Adairsville, 30103, and Transition Hospice Care, 610 Shorter Ave., Rome, 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and they are asked to be at Snow Springs Baptist Church by 1:30 p.m.: Leonard Fletcher, William Smith, Lamar Camp, Leslie Sexton, Gary Goggins and Gary Dutton.
