Mrs. Newberry was born on Sept. 9, 1928, in Cherokee County, Ala., daughter of the late Reuben McGinnis and the late Georgie Idell Cline McGinnis.
She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Earl Newberry, and a son, Mr. William Newberry.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Phillip Ryan Harris of White; three sons and daughters-in-law, Homer and Jessica Newberry of Kingston, Roy Lee and Ruth Ann Newberry of Adairsville and Ruben Earl and Mary Newberry of Cartersville; five sisters, Fanny Betty Fox of Adairsville, Mary Wade, Nelmer Jean McGinnis and Ruby Dean Bohannon, all of Cartersville, and Shelby Ray of Dallas; and three brothers, Charles McGinnis of Rockmart, W. A. McGinnis of Cartersville and James "Jimmy" McGinnis of Dallas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren also survive.
