Cartersville Fire Department said a white Honda Accord driven by a 17-year-old female went off the roadway and lost control after 6 p.m. The vehicle struck a power pole in the 300 block of Euharlee Road, snapping the pole and taking out a transformer.
The girl suffered minor injuries and was transported to Cartersville Medical Center, according to CFD.
Mark Williams with Georgia Power said at 10:40 p.m. that 293 people were without power. Service is expected to be restored in "several hours."
Euharlee Road was closed due to lines in the road, and CFD said the roadway would reopen after midnight.
