The crash occurred just after 4:30 p.m. at 50 Floyd Creek Church Road in Taylorsville.
According to reporters on the scene, the small aircraft shattered on impact but no fire was reported. There was no confirmation on the number of passengers, but only one ambulance and one stretcher were at the scene when the deceased was removed.
Fritz Dent with Phoenix Air said the business received no transmission from the pilot, so it is unclear where the plane was traveling. Also, Phoenix was called in to establish the type of plane without success.
Bartow County Fire Department engines 11 and 3, along with Bartow County Sheriff's Office units, are on scene.
