Their list includes the following: basic pantry items -- sugar, Kool-Aid, tea bags, coffee, creamer, ranch salad dressing, children's snacks; household items -- dish soap, Pine-Sol, Comet glass cleaner, laundry detergent, napkins, paper towels, plastic utensils, disinfectant spray/wipes, Styrofoam plates and cups, Zip-Lock bags (gallon size), garbage bags (13 and 33 gallon), Q-tips, fabric sheets; personal items -- alarm clocks, chains and locks for bikes, reusable water bottles, backpacks, men's underwear/boxers size medium and small (new), men's T-shirts (new and used, any color or size), men's used jeans size 32, 34, men's socks, plastic bed covers (to cover mattresses for young kids), and liquid hand soap
The shelter asks that all food be in-date and unopened. Gift cards are always welcomed.
Join the shelter on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at noon for the annual "Knowing Your Neighbor" Open House, featuring lunch, tours of the shelter and recognition of annual sponsors.
The shelter also will have a radio-thon on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 7 to 10 a.m. on WBFH. Call 770-386-1450 to pledge a donation.
