A motorist in Cartersville learned Sunday never to pull a gun on a federal agent regardless of how aggressive the driving may be.

According to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office report, the motorist and a Department of Homeland Security agent were involved in an aggressive driving report, after the pair allegedly cut each other off and exchanged obscene gestures on Highway 41 near Felton Road.

The motorist said he was scared, so he lifted a holstered pistol to the point it was visible to the agent. The agent then called 911 and followed the other man into the parking lot of Ross to confront the man and hold him for law enforcement.

When the deputy arrived, the motorist was sitting on the curb with his hands above his head while the agent stood 30 to 40 feet away "holding the other subject at gunpoint."

It was determined "both did use their vehicles to annoy, harass, molest and intimidate the other contrary to the law." The deputy explained the law, the men shook hands and parted ways.

No citations were issued.

Women wielding broken pool cue arrested for disorderly conduct

Just before midnight Sunday, a woman armed with a broken pool cue and yelling and cursing at Bartow Motel, 803 Joe Frank Harris Parkway, was taken into custody.

According to the report, the woman, who was evicted, "was protecting her 'stuff'" and had threatened two witnesses with the stick after they asked her to be quiet. Other witnesses verified the story and said the woman had been an ongoing problem at the property.

The woman accused the witnesses of lying and, after being told she was being arrested for disorderly conduct, said "No, I'm not." She later allowed the officer to handcuff her but continued to yell and curse before being transported to Cartersville Police Department for processing.
