Mr. Bagwell was born in Rydal, May 24, 1926, son of the late Thomas and Louella Willis Bagwell. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Morning Star No. 349 Masonic Lodge, Fairmount. Mr. Bagwell had worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation and was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Juanita Taylor Bagwell; and a son, Dennis Van Bagwell.
Survivors include a son, David Bagwell Jr. of Rydal; two grandsons, Thomas Chant Bagwell and David Logan Bagwell; a sister, Ione Bennett Barton of Dewey Community.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Log United Methodist Church Cemetery, Rydal. Kenneth Taylor, Steve Taylor, Keith Taylor, Michael Finley, Jimmy Finley, and Randy Finley will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
