A fatal crash on Kings Camp Road near Allatoona Woods Trail resulted in one death and three injuries.

According to Georgia State Patrol Public Information Officer Gordy Wright, William David Hannah, 27, of Acworth, perished in the accident. Hannah was a passenger in a 1984 GMC pick-up truck that had slowed to make a left turn from Kings Camp into Allatoona Woods Trail.

"As the truck was turning, it was hit from behind by a 2000 Ford Focus causing the truck to travel left and strike a utility pole," Wright said. "William David Hannah was partially ejected and died at the scene."

The driver and a second passenger in the pick-up truck were injured. Wright identified the driver as Joseph Thomas Long, 41, also of Acworth. Long was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. The second passenger was transported to Kennestone Hospital.

"The driver of the Ford Focus was Timothy Michael Van Hoose, 33, from Acworth. He was taken to Cartersville Medical Center," Wright said. "He has been charged with driving under the influence and first degree vehicular homicide. Other charges are pending."
