Linda Patterson Manasco, 73, of Cedartown, passed away Dec. 12, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken R. Manasco; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Bryant Strange; brother, Dan Patterson; sisters, Laura Patterson Swadet, Jackie Patterson Harrison.

She loved to work in her gardens, enjoyed sewing and creating garments for various occasions, great cook and loved her family. She was instrumental in creating laws to help protect and educated the physically or mentally impaired in public schools. She was a founding board member of the Epilepsy Foundationof America in Jacksonville, Fla. She worked to stimulate growth in everything she was involved in. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church in Hoover, Ala.

Survivors include her son, William Bryant; step-son, Kenny Ray Manasco; daughter, Shirley (Dwayne) Stokes; sister, Wilda Patterson Bentley; grandchildren, Wayne Huggins, Amanda Manasco Jordan, Sarah Manasco, D.J. Strange, Ginny Stokes Brand, Katie Stokes, Randall Martin, Paula Manasco Johnston; great-grandchildren, Lane Martin, Clay Brand and Rosalyn Huggins; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors Friday, Dec. 16, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City, Ala. A funeral service will be held Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
