A native of Bartow County, born May 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Henry Franklin Law and Virginia Grace McEver Law. Preceding her in death are her parents; two brothers, James and Charles Law; her sister-in-law, Martha Brown Law; her nephew, Eugene Law; and her niece, Nevada Law.
Katie was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was retired from Shaw Industries.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert R. Smith, to whom she was married Oct. 21, 1955; her sons and daughter-in-law, David Wayne Smith and wife, Tamra, and Douglas William Smith; her grandchildren, Felicia Liou and husband, Wen of Punta Gorda, Fla., Michelle, Dustin and Aubree Smith all of Cartersville; her siblings, Henry G. and Carolyn Law of Central, S.C., Joyce Siniard, Martha and Wayne Hale, Sue Brooks and Don and Patricia Law, all of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Benny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Hale, Kevin and Ricky Law, Darren Ensley, Terry Siniard and Charles Gaston; Rodney Law, Steve Law, Joey Underwood and Ryan Ensley will serve as honorary pallbearers.
