The 2012 budget rounded out the final work session discussion for the city of Euharlee Tuesday night.

Along with the budget, City Manager Trish Sullivan proposed a change in municipal court time from morning hearings to 4 p.m. at the suggestion of lawyers who attend to other business that day as well. Municipal court for the city is held every second Thursday of the month at city hall.

Questions on the budget mainly centered around recent changes to the city's police department. A future purchase of three new vehicles for the force is requested by newly instated chief Terry Harget. Bids and options are currently being explored with a formal request to be presented to the city council after the first of the year.

Before closing the meeting Mayor Kathy Foulk called for a special-called meeting on Jan. 3 at 6:45 p.m. to officially swear in police chief Harget and newly elected council member Craig Guyton. After the swearing in a second reading of the budget will be held with the council voting on the matter.
