Raymond Varner, 80, of White, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011. Funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with Minister Lee Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park with Military Honors.

Mr. Varner was a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force having obtaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was involved in many organizations including the Air Force Sergeants Association, American Military Society and the American Legion Post in Canton. Having retired from the Air Force in 1970, Mr. Varner started Varner Construction Incorporated and ran this business for many years.

Those who survive Mr. Varner are his wife, Grace of White; son, Danny Ray Varner of White; daughters, Glenda Sue Hawkins of White and Connie Elaine Weeks of White; brother, Richard G. Varner of Parsons, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
