Cartersville police officers found three glass bottles and items used to make Molotov cocktails outside a city residence Sunday night after a mother and daughter inside the home smelled an odor of gasoline coming from the east side of the home near the electrical boxes.

Officers found gasoline-soaked rags used for the wick of the cocktail bombs. One cloth was reported to be scorched where it appears someone attempted to set it on fire. No injuries were reported, and the bombs did not cause a fire.

The homeowner told the officer that the previous night a black male was involved in an altercation with an unknown white male at the residence, and the white male allegedly pulled a knife and said, "Y'all ain't got no heart, then neither will I."

No other suspects were known at the time the report was filed.
