She was born in Atlanta Aug. 27, 1951, daughter of the late William "Bill" and Geneva Pauline Hansel McGill. Mrs. Burns, a child of God, was of the Christian faith and had earned a master's degree in art, English and equine management. Mrs. Burns was a lover of animals, especially horses. A "lover of the arts," she was talented in all things creative, music, jewelry-making, fashion and interior design, and show business. Mrs. Burns also enjoyed watersports, snow skiing and a tranquil swim in the lake. She was loved by all, always smiling and dancing, and a best friend to everyone.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Lewis Burns, and two daughters, Lauren Jadyn "Lou" Burns and Kristen Lynn "KiKi" Burns, all of north Georgia.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ayers officiating.
