Mrs. Sullins was born on March 8, 1928, in Bartow County to the late N.C. Lanham and Maxie McCoy Lanham. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sullins was preceded in death by her husband, Emory "Tim" Sullins, in 2005, and by a sister, Annette Cantrell. Prior to her retirement in 1993, Mrs. Sullins was employed by the State Of Georgia at the Floyd County Department of Family and Children Services. In her earlier years she had worked as Office Manager for local radio station WRGA. At the time of her death Mrs. Sullins was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lindale, and had previously been a member of Hollywood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sullins is survived by a son, Thomas Sullins, and his wife, Priscilla, Silver Creek; a daughter, Nancy Kay Stevenson, and her husband, Charles, Rome; two grandchildren, Jacob Sullins, Cartersville; Whitney Sullins, Silver Creek; a sister, Denise Townsend, Cartersville; a brother W. F. Lanham, Cartersville; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside and interment services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville, with Rev. Bobby Stephens, officiating. Those attending the service are asked to please meet at the graveside by 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. No visitation will be held, however friends may call at their convenience at Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Rome.
