Born in Jasper on Nov. 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late John W. Dover and the late Bertha Mae Williams Dover. She attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Doyle Abernathy; her children, Christy Abernathy, Dewayne Abernathy and Lamar Abernathy and wife, Lynn; 10 grandchildren; her sisters, Patricia Jones, Mary Phillips, Gerald Dean Cromer, Alice Lingerfelt and Elizabeth Dover; her brothers, Larry, Jimmy, Robert and John Dover; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Moore and Rev. Donny Summey officiating. Burial will follow in Old Macedonia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
