The daily newspaper will continue printing six days, with editions printed Tuesday through Sunday instead of the current Sunday through Friday schedule.
"For more than 65 years, The Daily Tribune News has proudly served as Bartow County's only daily newspaper. For many of those years, the paper was delivered in the afternoon, Monday through Friday. Times changed and we responded to our readers' requests for fresher news by moving to a morning publication, being delivered in-home before 6:30 a.m. weekdays. As the county grew and readers asked for more, a Sunday morning edition was added. Then came a free web version, Facebook presence and a full e-edition available via subscription," said Publisher Johnette Dawson.
"It is with extreme pride that I announce beginning on Saturday, April 7, The Daily Tribune News will add a Saturday morning edition to our lineup, including home delivery, news racks and e-edition," Dawson said.
"With the Saturday morning publication, local high school sports, crime news, classified advertising and other information you have asked for will now be delivered to you early Saturday morning instead of Sundays."
To maintain the current low subscription rates while providing a Saturday paper, the newspaper will discontinue the current Monday newspaper. The final Monday edition of The Daily Tribune News will be delivered March 26 with no Monday paper delivery beginning April 2.
"We appreciate everyone who has supported us over the last 66 years and look forward to serving you for years to come," Dawson said.
