Mr. McFarland was born July 13, 1960, in Cherokee County and prior to his illness was a truck driver.
Surviving are children, Christy Lewis of Adairsville, John McFarland of Cartersville, David and Amy Fowler of Woodstock, Amber Nichole Hembree of Taylorsville; eight grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Charles and Linda McFarland of Cartersville; his mother and step father, Inez and Ronnie Fowler of Canton; sisters, Gwen Smith of Tennessee, Cindy Avallone of Adairsville; brothers, Timmy Shuler of White, Michael McFarland of Adairsville, Henry Shuler of New York; and several nieces and nephew.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at Stamp Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Blackburn officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
