Robert Lee (Bob) Vincent, 72, of Sugar Valley Road, Cartersville, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012.

Mr. Vincent was born Aug.12, 1939, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the son of the late, Harry Wesley and Margaret Lorena Elizabeth (Corey) Vincent. He was retired from General Motors, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of Woodmen of the World and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church for 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Vincent and a sister, Betty Vincent-Goudy.

Surviving are is his wife, Elaine Vincent, two sons; Tim Vincent and his wife Brenda and Bobby Vincent all of Cartersville, grandchildren; Melanie Vincent and Trent Vincent, six sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Gene Boso, Shirley and Jim Sutton, Helen Vincent-James, all of Parkersburg, W.Va., Sally Vincent-Moore of Cartersville, Margaret and Clyde Dawkins of Lubeck, W.Va., Pamela Vincent of Fredericksburg, Va., a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Joey Vincent of Chapel Hill, Fla., special nieces and nephew, Mallory Addison Mahoney, Aubrey H. Mahoney and Landon Paris Mahoney and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4, at 2 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. David Baker, Rev. Jonathan Padgett and Rev. Jordan Runion officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Steve Southern, Griffin Padgett, Kelly Abernathy, Byron Chastain, Earl Abernathy and Ronnie Howard.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Ga., is in charge of the arrangements.
