The daughter of the late Jess and Della Chastain Neal, Frances was born Jan. 30, 1933 in Rydal. She was a housewife and a homemaker of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Frank Eugene Neal Sr., Herman Neal, Elbert Neal, Chester Neal, Byren Neal, Tom Neal Sr., Clinton Neal, Billy Joe Neal, J.M. Neal, sisters; Mary Sue Daniel and Dessie Aislene Bennett.
She is survived by her son, Sam Poynter of Antioch, Tenn.; daughter, Donna Poynter Thomas (Harrison), of Corbin, Ky.; brother, Dave Neal of Knoxville, Tenn., sister, Beatrice Young of Pine Log; grandsons, Sheldon and Shilo Thomas. Several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends who mourn her passing also survive.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, at the chapel of Corbin Funeral Home. Pastor Billy Shackleford will be officiating and burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Corbin Funeral Home.
