Adairsville, the No. 4 seed from the south sub-region, withstood some early opportunities from the north sub-region's top seed but couldn't keep the Lady Warriors out of the net as the hosts delivered a pair of goals for a 2-0 win.
"I hate to be happy after a loss," Lady Tiger assistant Lance Hall said, "[but] that's the best game our kids have played all year. LFO is a good team and we hung with 'em for the night."
"[It was an] incredible effort by our girls," Hall added. "Coach [David] Sexauer and myself, we were very, very pleased with how hard our kids played."
In the first half, the game was played "between the 18s," he said, with the two teams combining for 14 shots -- 10 for the Lady Warriors.
The game stood at 0-0 at halftime.
LFO cracked in a goal 11 minutes after the start of the second half when a cross headed out by Adairsville's sweeper landed on the foot of a Lady Warrior wing, who boomed the goal from 15 yards out, giving the team a 1-0 lead.
Fourteen minutes later, in the 65th minute, LFO notched its second goal of the game on a breakaway.
Lady Tiger goal keeper Becca Ferguson made 14 saves on the night.
Adairsville drops to 9-6-1 overall with one more game to play. Though their postseason run ended Monday, the Lady Tigers conclude their season with a friendly at Ridgeland Thursday.
