Mrs. Helen Dean Earwood Adcock, 78, of 91 Adcock Loop, Adairsville, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012, at her residence.

She was born in Cartersville Oct. 20, 1933, daughter of late William Elmer Earwood and Willie Beatrice Jenkins Earwood Holt. Mrs. Adcock was of the Baptist faith and had worked as a seamstress at Kuhlman's Inc. and later at Morello's in Cartersville. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, gardening and canning vegetables, loved to sew, but most of all cherished spending time with and caring for her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Max Adcock; a son, Walter Vernon Adcock; a great-grandson, Kristopher Kyle Cape; her stepfather, Thurman Holt; and a son-in-law, William "Billy" Pulliam.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Moss of Adairsville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Earl (Betty) Adcock of Adairsville, Claude (Joyce) Adcock of Adairsville, Ricky (Ann) Adcock of Calhoun and Randy (Marilyn) Adcock of Adairsville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Epps of White, Wanda (Gene) Cape of Adairsville, Sherrie (Phillip) Pruitt of Cartersville, Deborah Pulliam of Adairsville; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; four stepchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Rudy (Linda) Earwood of South Carolina, Jackie (Pollie) Earwood of Dalton, Larry (Dale) Earwood of Dalton, Ellis (Brenda) Earwood of Resaca, Danny (Lola) Earwood of Dalton; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pat Prater of Florida, and Nell (Ralph) Mathis of Cassville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 25, at 1:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Jason Parker, Rev. Jim Pinkard and Rev. Randy Adcock officiating. Interment will follow in Hayes Cemetery in the Folsom community, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Josh Pulliam, Brandon Adcock, Eric Adcock, Lamar Pulliam, Joseph Adcock and Justin Adcock with Shayne Epps, Jamie Epps, Doyle Adcock, Durell Adcock, Charlie Edwards, Phillip Pruitt and Chuck Cape serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
