Adairsville capped a record-setting girls soccer season Tuesday with a 2-1 victory over North Murray, which was visiting Tiger Valley.

Freshman Emily Sexauer set up Sydney Sumners for the game-winning goal in the 49th minute. Sexauer's second-half assist was her second on the day and gave her nine on the season, an Adairsville record.

The game went back and forth but time eventually expired, giving the Lady Tigers (11-6-1) their 11th win of the season, tying the school record.

In the first half, Sexauer chipped a pass over the Lady Mountaineer defensive line, and Cassidy Greene ran onto the ball, scoring in the 28th minute to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

North Murray netted the equalizer right before halftime as the Lady Mountaineers earned a corner kick in the 36th minute. North Murray kicked the ball in the air, Adairsville assistant coach Lance Hall said, and one of their players got a head on it, getting the ball into the net and just past the fingers of the Lady Tigers' goalkeeper.

The game remained tied for almost 15 minutes of game time before Adairsville broke through to nab a season-ending win.

The Lady Tigers celebrated senior night Tuesday with defender Caitlin Berkenkamp playing her final game for Adairsville.

"Caitlin Berkenkamp, she didn't get much press time or stats, but she played defense her whole career. She had 62 starts," Hall said of the team's lone senior. "That's pretty remarkable. We'll miss her. She was kind of like the rock back there. She played anywhere we needed her to play."
