Mrs. Evelyn Taylor Holstein, 87 of Taylorsville passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012.

Mrs. Holstein was born on Jan. 17, 1925, in Taylorsville, daughter of the late Alva Wofford Taylor and the late Annie Cunyus Taylor. She was a homemaker and retired parapro with the Taylorsville Elementary School. Mrs. Holstein was a member of the Taylorsville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Milledge J. Holstein on March 16, 1980.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Alva and Candice Holstein and John T. Holstein of Taylorsville; and four grandchildren, Al and Steffanie Holstein, Jeff and Michelle Holstein, Lance Holstein and Caroline Holstein, all of Taylorsville; and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Holstein will be held on Saturday, April 28, at 4 p.m. in the Taylorsville Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Harris and Rev. Tommy Harris officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of the Taylorsville Cemetery.

Mrs. Holstein will be taken to the church to lie in state from 3 p.m. until the funeral hour.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: John Black, Bart Black, Roger Black, Dwain Word, Jerry Thompson and Jimmy McKelvey.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, April 27, from 7 to 9 p.m.
