Sibyl had lived in Loudon County for 63 years. Before coming to Loudon County, she and her husband, the late Luther H. Grizzle, were among the early residents of Oak Ridge, where they arrived in 1945. Sibyl was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved gardening and each year she raised and preserved fruits and vegetables and made jellies and pickles for the extended circle of the family and friends whom she treasured.
Sibyl was born in Pine Log, Ga., on Aug. 6, 1920, the daughter of John Willis Dysar Jr. and Naomi Irene King Dysart. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lucetta; brothers, Luther, Walton, Gene, and James Dysart; sisters, Virginia Dysart, Bessie Fouts and Helen Farist, and daughter-in-law, Barbara Grizzle. She is survived by her son, Ronald Grizzle of Lenoir City, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Val and John Alexander of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; grandsons, Randall Grizzle and wife, Brenda of Hamilton, Ohio, and Greg Grizzle of Lenoir City, Tenn.; great-grandsons, James Grizzle of Cincinnati, Ohio, Randy Grizzle and wife, Amber; great-great grandson, Elijah Ray Grizzle, all of Hamilton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; beloved friend and neighbor, Ruth Goodwin; and many other dear friends whom she considered part of her family.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. David Latham officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Pine Log Methodist Church Cemetery, Rydal, Ga.
