Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald McPherson, the Rev. Ray Ownes and the Rev. Danny Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Bartow County, he was born on Nov. 13, 1919, to Howard and Cynthia Prather Minter. He was retired from Strain Poultry and was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Clarence, Hayden (Genelle) and Sherman Minter, and is survived by his loving wife, Nettie T. Minter; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Sherman McLemore; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Wilma Minter and David and Ruth Minter; grandchildren, Tracey and Dean Prange, Kelly and Joe Simpson, Amanda and Matt Baumgarth and Wesley Minter; great-grandchildren, Brady Simpson and Ansley Simpson; sisters, Lorene M. Cantrell and Florence M. Brown; sister-in-law, Juanita M. Minter; several nieces and nephews.
