She was born in Bartow County, March 17, 1955, daughter of Sylvia Haygood Wood and the late Dennis Wood. Mrs. Dover was of the Baptist faith and had worked as a seamstress with Undergarment MFG and Mirello in Cartersville for more than 15 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who took great pride in caring for her loved ones. Preparing large family meals for holidays and special occasions especially gave her joy. Mrs. Dover also enjoyed taking trips with her husband to the Great Smoky Mountains. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Dover, and her father, Dennis Wood.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Toby (Bonnie) Dover of Cartersville, and Jamie (Holli) Dover of Cartersville; three stepsons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Dover of Emerson, Shane (Brandy) Dover of Cartersville, and Tony Bryan Dover of Cartersville; nine grandchildren; three brothers and a sister-in-law, John David Wood of Cartersville, James Douglas "Duckie" (Ellen) Wood of White, and Jimmy Dale Wood of Brookwood, Ala.; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Dot (Carmen) Tidwell of Acworth, and Mary Ann (Danny) Kiser of Cartersville; four brothers-in-law and their wives, James (Lois) Dover of Calhoun, Jimmy (Connie) Dover of Calhoun, Johnny Dover of Emerson and Charles Dover of Acworth; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home.
A private interment will be held at a later date in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Kingston.
