Herron, a member of the Carpet Capital Aquatics Club team in Dalton, was named the 2010 Bartow County Swimmer of the Year.
Emory & Henry coach Dave Griffore sees Herron as one of the building blocks in the school's inaugural swim season.
"I am extremely excited for Tyler Ann to join our new swim team here at E&H. She will make an immediate impact next fall, and I cannot wait to get her on campus," Griffore said.
Being a part of a new program was key in Herron's decision.
"To be able to go in with the program at the ground level and build it up, to set the traditions, it just seemed like the place for me. There is a lot of excitement and coach Dave has coached at all levels in college and he knows what it will take to make our team the best in the conference and hopefully get me to the All-American level," Herron said.
Emory & Henry is a member of the Old Dominion Atlantic Conference.
"Tyler Ann has been a strong swimmer for the Carpet Capital Aquatics Club and Adairsville. I am excited that she will move on to the next level and compete," said Charles Todd, Carpet Capital Aquatics Club coach.
Herron will graduate in the top 10 percent of her class.
"Tyler Ann is an outstanding swimmer," Adairsville coach Anne Cornwell said. "Her passion for the sport is obvious each time she enters the water. Her movement in the water is fluid and graceful. She has been an asset to the team through her knowledge of the sport and her ability to encourage teammates to earn their best times."
Herron, a member of the National Beta Club, was captain of the swim team.
