Cass players look to breed familiarity

Cass alternated between bouts of good play and bad Saturday, not uncommon for a boys basketball team in the summertime -- especially one just now figuring out how to fill the vacancies created by the graduation of last year's leaders.

"Well, we've got a lot to replace off last year's team. I'd say that we probably lost 85 or 90 percent of last year's scoring, assists and maybe even rebounding. So, we're replacing a lot of different areas this year with a few kids that were on the varsity and then some that are moving up from the JV, and we're trying to get 'em to look at the total picture," Colonels coach Greg Scott said after his team's loss to Excel Christian.
